This is what I've found on wiki answers on the subject:Holmes had at least three, different colored dressing gowns: Blue - (The Man with a Twisted Lip) Purple - (The Blue Carbuncle) Mouse - (The Bruce-Partington Plans and The Empty House) The type of long traveling cloak/cape that Holmes wore is also known as an 'Inverness' double billed cap known as a 'deerstalker' Holmes sometimes wore a frock coat A little more... Holmes was a gentleman of the Victorian era. As such he had to dress a certain way. The drawings taken from The Strand magazine show Holmes in evening clothes and top hat, a derby, and most often a suit. In The Final Problem, Holmes was mountaineering, and wore appropriate clothing. In disguise, of course, his appearance was far more varied. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_kind_of_clothes_did_Sherlock_Holmes_wear#ixzz1njwVa81e Do you find this valuable? |
