Aww... love the picture of Nigel Bruce. He may not have been the "perfect" Watson in the sense that he did not follow perfectly after the Dr. Watson invisioned by Doyle in his novellas, but Nigel Bruce is most definitely the "perfect" Watson in the sense that he is the most entertaining, loveable Watson I think has ever been presented to us fans on the big screne. He and Basil Rathbone were spectabulous!! 2  out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?

I know. I wasn't much of a Jeremy Brett fan, and I am just crazy about Rathbone! Do you find this valuable?

I like Burke's, Hardwicke's, Law's and Freeman's versions better but I admit that Bruce's brought Watson back from not being there at all. Do you find this valuable?

He sure did. He may have not had the best and/or accurate portrayal of Watson, but it was pretty good. He did sort of bring Watson back from the dead... Do you find this valuable?

Nigel Bruce, as Watson, was the jovial uncle, and though not strictly as Doyle would have him, my guess is that had he seen his portrayal of Watson he might have altered the way he wrote the character closer to Nigel Bruce's. Do you find this valuable?
