Yes, I know. The most described pipe is a curved pipe, which in the films, was a calabash. That is why we used it. But, even when you answer calabash, it says this:Although film representations have varied and the stories are somewhat unclear, the most associated type of pipe is the calabash, which was originally carved from a gourd. The calabash became associated with Holmes through actor William Gillette, who wanted a pipe that would not interfere with his famous profile or with clear articulation. Do you find this valuable? |

Negative...a curved pipe is not "the most described," not in the Canon. One is NOT mentioned at all. ;-)

I know. What I meant was it is the most described pipe. In films. No other pipe is really described in the canon or films. P.S. What pipe would you want to see as the correct answer there? Do you find this valuable? |

"I know. What I meant was it is the most described pipe. In films. No other pipe is really described in the canon or films.A clay is mentioned in The Hound of the Baskervilles, but I believe the most frequently mentioned in the canon is a cherry. Do you find this valuable? |

Well, what I read the most is various different pipes. What do you think of me putting an answer "Many Different Pipes?" But, I think that would be the most answered one if we put that. I think maybe we should try changing most of the answers, and make it to where we can put "All of the Above" Do you find this valuable? |

“…taking up a glowing cinder with the tongs and lighting with it the long cherry-wood pipe which was wont to replace his clay when he was in a disputatious rather than a meditative mood…” The Adventure of the Copper BeechesSo I would recommend clay as one answer, cherry as another and "A and B" (or whatever letters appropriate) as the correct one and possibly "none of the above" in the mix.. OR you could rephrase the question: Holmes' favorite pipe when in a contemplative mood was a: Same answer selection only the correct answer would be (a). Do you find this valuable? |

I'd like a better description me own self. :) It's never described beyond being a clay pipe, so I recommend the quote from The Adventure of the Copper Beeches, above.

Eep. I should have written the question "meditative" rather than "contemplative" but yeah, good.
