Are you looking forward to the next season of BBC's "Sherlock"?
-- Yes, Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman are awesome! - 90% No, I would rather watch Rupert Everett! - 0% Somewhat...I guess it is better than watching Ben Syder... - 5% Wait? BBC did a new Sherlock Holmes series? - 5% -- It looks like just about everybody is looking forward to the next season! So am I! ;)

Hi everyone. Only just found this site so pleased I did. What are your thoughts on the new BBC1 mini-series ?
I was expecting to hate it but actually was quite surprised and looking forward to next episode.

There is a bar in Philly called Moriarty's (it is around the corner from where Dr. Watson's Pub used to be). They used to have a coat of arms painted on the wall with the latin motto that, I was told, said "Danger Excites Me." Does this crest and motto appear any where in the literature?

Sherlock Holmes to me has the most incredible mind. I have never found the stories to be dated, despite the time period it is set in. He is dedicated and a Master puzzle solver. He has a obsession with his work because he is a workaholic and he makes it a science revealing how he does it. He lives by no other rules than his own and he 'created his own profession and is the only one in the world' he says . Arthur Conan Doyle had always wanted to be known as a great author of historical novels. He never loved Sherlock as much as the detective's adoring public. But Holmes had a great confidence in his capabilities, but in an egotistical way. It was a belief in his deductive powers, he was happy to play down his told and give credit to the police. He is always ready to bend the law and has been criticised for this but he takes the risks we admire him for doing. He isn't emotional in expressing himself. he appears to have quite a cold exterior, but he is a loyal friend of Watson and willing to sacrifice everything for his clients who come to him for help in solving cases. He is the best detective in Literature history. He is a much loved character.To quote: "If I never met you, I wouldn't like you. If I didn't like you, I wouldn't love you. If I didn't love you, I wouldn't miss you. But I did, I do and I will." Exactly why I love reading about him.*
