The Spider Woman was a 1944 Sherlock Holmes Film starring Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce.

Detailed Synopsis:

Sherlock Holmes fakes his death to investigate what is said to be "Suicides." Holmes believes that these suicides are actually the work of a "female Moriarty." Holmes finds out that the victims were wealthy gamblers, so he disguised himself and goes to London's gaming clubs.

He encouters the villian at piece, Adria Spedding. Holmes sets himself her next victim after finding out she uses a deadly spider to do her murders.


Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson investigate at a fairground. But Holmes falls into the hands of Spedding and her gang. Holmes is tied to the back of a moving target, and Dr. Watson and Lestrade are fireing at it. Holmes figures out how to escape, and does. Him, Watson and Lestrade arrest Spedding and her gang along with a pygmy.
