The Pearl of Death is a 1944 Sherlock Holmes film starring Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce. It is the ninth film in the Rathbone series.
The "Borgia Pearl" is stolen by Giles Conover at the Royal Regant Museum while Holmes and Watson are visiting. When he is caught, the pearl is not found on him. He is then released.
After the third killing, Holmes finds out Conover hid the pearl inside of a napoleon bust. Later, Holmes finds the home of the bust and gets there before Conover does. "The Creeper" is with Conover when he arrives. Holmes The Creeper that Conover will end up killing him. The Creeper then kills Conover, and Holmes breaks the bust recovering the pearl.
