The House of Fear is a 1945 Sherlock Holmes Film starring Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce.
Sherlock Holmes is visited by Mr. Chalmers, an insurance agent, with a strange tale. Seven single men who live in the same home. One of the them received a strange message. An envelope that contained six orange pips. The man was later murdered. Mr. Chalmers believes that one of the seven men are killing the others to get their money. Holmes is on the case! After Holmes and Watson get to the scene, they find another murder. This man received five orange pips. Lestrade will arrive at the scene later. Despite Holmes' detective powers, three more murders occur, each time leaving the bodies unrecognisable. Lestrade then jumps to the obvious conclusion, that the six men where killed by the last liveng man. Holmes then reveals the truth and takes Lestrade and Watson to a secret room where all the men were alive and well.

This is by far my personal favorite Holmes film ever. It creates ingenious suspense, uncontainable laughter and snickering (mostly provided by our adorable Dr. Watson), unsuspecting plot twists and a brilliant answer to the mystery. The cast was fantastic, and Basil Rathbone again proved to us that he is in fact the greatest Holmes of them all. This has been one of my all-time favorite movies since I was a kid. :)
