For me there are two types of Watson, the lovable and the serious, with Freedman is the lovable and Law is the serious, and yet I find them to be equally good, although different.

Have you ever watched 'Sherlock' by BBC? That is the best series ever, IMO. :D I also really liked the series Ronald Howard was in. It was one of my favourites. ;)
Check them both out.

The best performance of Holmes. I can't watch any others without comparing it to his gold standard. Sadly missed.

Thanks for sharing your opinion!
But I personally find Rathbone the best Holmes ever. Followed by Cumberbatch and RDJ...those were the most enjoyable to watch. Brett was just...boring. :)

I personally like Rathbone, Cumberbatch, and RDJ the best.

Aww... love the picture of Nigel Bruce. He may not have been the "perfect" Watson in the sense that he did not follow perfectly after the Dr. Watson invisioned by Doyle in his novellas, but Nigel Bruce is most definitely the "perfect" Watson in the sense that he is the most entertaining, loveable Watson I think has ever been presented to us fans on the big screne. He and Basil Rathbone were spectabulous!!

Nigel Bruce, as Watson, was the jovial uncle, and though not strictly as Doyle would have him, my guess is that had he seen his portrayal of Watson he might have altered the way he wrote the character closer to Nigel Bruce's.

This is the second Web site where I have seen it listed that there are 150 episodes discovered, but every radio Web site I have been to only refer to the same ones that have been available since the 80's. Does anyone know what these other episodes are? Who has them? And what is the quality of the recording?

I know I am a tad late with this but I was terribly sad to hear of the death of Edward on 17 May. Edward was a brilliant Watson to Jeremy's Holmes. He was also Earl of Arundel in Elizabeth another favourite film (I love my history), Lord Thomas Stanley in Richard III (Robert Downey Jnr played Lord Rivers), Mr Wickfield in David Copperfield and a brilliant back catalogue of TV and Film roles.
RIP Edward you will be misssed

"Edward had a brilliant film career he played Arthur Conan Doyle in Photographing Fairies and his early career and indeed latter was littered with films." I Know I don`t like Sherlock Homes Series but Rest in Peace Edward Hardwicke and also have a good life in the other world.
